ARCHITECTURAL PHOTOGRAPHY

London architecture photographer Gorm Shackelford works with press officers and graphic designers to create attractive promotional photographs for museums, churches, and other tourist attractions. The above portfolio comes from collaboration with the press officers of Westminster Abbey and the graphic designers of Structure. The photographs are copyright © Gorm Shackelford / Westminster Abbey and the design is copyright © Structure.

Gorm prefers to shoot architectural photographs on large-format film, using a 4x5 Sinar view camera, and delivering the high-resolution scans to his clients on CD. The view camera allows perspective to be corrected in camera, for example by straightening the converging lines of tall buildings, when photographed from ground level. The latitude of color-negative film retains details in both highlights and shadows simultaneously, for example in both the stained-glass windows and the dark alcoves of church interiors, that cannot be matched with other materials.

Rates for architectural photography in London are £300 GBP inclusive for up to four hours and £600 GBP inclusive for up to eight hours. Please contact Gorm Shackelford at gs@gormshackelford.com for more information or to get a quote for architectural photography outside of London.
